Volunteer to Help Run the Club

The club is run by volunteers. If we share the work it is easy and we can run the club for the benefit of junior and senior members alike. All members and one parent of each junior member are expected to help in some way, either on the committee, on the supervision rota or in other ways. Most roles require no expertise other than to be organised, keep records and communicate. For other roles training will be provided. Most roles take an average of 15 minutes per week, though it varies from week to week depending on the role, as shown below.

Web Post moderator - Check posts are OK and publish on News page - basic - 10 mins

Tournament controller - Take entries, pair players, enter results, decide prizes - Using Swiss Manager/Master - 40 mins + training

Prizes Officer - Buy prizes and present them after each tournament - Shopping, Organising - 10 mins

Treasurer 1 - Record fees paid, owed, money spent - Excel/similar - 25 mins

Treasurer 2 - Arrange public liability insurance - Phone skills - 3-6 hours once off

Club captain - Decide makeup of teams - Record players strengths, Excel - 10 mins
