*Parents of associate members who join for the Community Games pay much reduced fees and do not need to join the rota.
Membership of the club is open to all, adults and juniors, beginners and grandmasters, from Skerries and surrounding areas, subject to ratification by the committee. Membership is from September to July. Members and parents are expected to help out with supervision and with the running of the club. To see how you can contribute, see Contact > Committee and Volunteer pages. One way is by joining the Parents` Supervision Rota (see Join > Supervision).
In August 2024 we were advised by the NVB that Vetting is not required. See Join > Policies for details.
All are welcome to visit the club to try it out free of charge for a week before deciding if you wish to join or not. On your first visit we still need you to Login and Apply to Join so we have your details. This is very important for juniors especially.
Fees are outlined below. Those who pay in full by the second Tuesday in September get €10 off.
Members Fees 2024/25 ________________ ____________ Adult €130 (or €10 less if paid in full by 2nd Tuesday in Sept) U18s/Students €120 (or €10 less if paid in full by 2nd Tuesday in Sept) Family Discount -€10 for second and subsequent family members ICU contribution €10 extra for those playing in the Leinster League teams, not junior teams, and/or the Fingal Open Late entry fees €10 per tournament entered late as below
Players who want to be play in the Leinster leagues (mostly adults and strong juniors) or Fingal Open (since it is ICU rated), not the Community Games or other junior teams, should pay €10 towards ICU membership and league fees, which cost the club €25 to €50 per player. More in the Team link above. Pay later if you are unsure. We will run the Fingal Open in the club in January - April, which is ICU rated and therefore requires ICU membership.
Entry to all club tournaments, teams and coaching is free to members, provided they enter on time, usually a week before the first round. Existing members who enter late pay a €10 late fee. Former members are always welcome to visit the club. Visitors are welcome to try out the club on one occasion before joining.
Adults who first attend later in the season pay reduced fees as show above with the usual further reductions for Juniors and family members. Juniors who join for the Community Games only pay €30, and the balance of the junior fee if they continue in January. without a charge for paying by instalments.
Payment by instalments incurs an extra charge of €10 per instalment for all but the last instalment. The minimum such payment is €50 including the extra €10 charge, which reduces the amount owing by €40. This does not apply to juniors who joined for the Community Games. This entitles the player to enter one tournament, or join for three months, but not play in the leagues for which full membership is required. Further reductions in fees are availabile to those who are unemployed or on low incomes, by talking to the treasurer or chairperson.
Note:We changed our bank account in July 2024 from AIB to Bank of Ireland, so those who used bank transfer before should change their Payee details to those below.
