Past Leagues and Cups

What are the Leagues?

• Team competitions suitable for adults and strong juniors.
• Teams of 5, 6 or 8 players.
• Matches from 7:15pm (Div 1 - 3) / 7:30pm (Div 4 - 6) until late. Saturday matches start 2:30pm.
• Clocks used. Moves recorded.
• Home matches on club nights (Tuesdays), away matches on the away team club night. Some matches on Saturdays for distant clubs.
• Leagues from late September until Easter. 11 rounds in most divisions, less in lowest division.
• Knockout Cups after that until June. 3-5 rounds.
• Selection for teams based on Skerries and ICU ratings, not on age.
• Players pay €10 towards the cost of ICU membership, which also entitles individuals to play in ICU run tournaments.
• Games in all divisions are rated by the ICU, and in the higher divisions (1-3) also by FIDE. Players get a provisional ICU rating after a few games and a full rating after 20 games.
